Healthy Relationships Initiative

The 6th Annual Nation of Islam Single's Retreat invites paper submissions examining healthy relationships from a scientific perspective.  We call for papers that examine both theoretical and hands-on approaches to improve each individual through the process of self-examination and an analysis of one's relationships. 

 

Possible topics include:

We welcome papers that seek to understand and describe the dynamics in relationships in many forms, be it from a theoretical or applied perspective. Possible topics could be, but are not restricted to:

  • the specific nature of male and female
  • how does one know if they are prepared for marriage
  • aesthetic approaches to communication in relationships, managing conflict
  • blended families, child support & custody issues
  • methodologies for analyzing factors leading to successful and failed marriages
  • intercultural relationships
  • compatibility factors
  • and more.....
  •  

    Requirements:

    The staff hopes to be able to chart some of the current trends in study related to the advancement of courtship and marriage.

    Therefore, Single’s retreat staff welcomes submissions from researchers in the humanities, social sciences, human development, psychology, and other disciplines are also encouraged to submit proposals for papers. Only full papers will be accepted for review. Deadline for submission is November 19, 2010.
